Hotel Review: The Godley Hotel
The only place I’ve stayed at at Lake Tekapo is The Godley Hotel. The Godley Hotel is not a Qualmark rated hotel.
My experience at The Godley Hotel is a mixed one, but that’s probably because I stayed in one of their budget rooms at the time, which are much older rooms, but still clean. Those rooms might still exist, but cannot be booked online; you’ve got to contact the hotel directly by telephone or email.
What I loved most about the The Godley Hotel was the food they served. When I booked with them, I got a very good package deal where I got breakfast and dinner vouchers for my entire stay – I think I was lucky to get such a good deal.
While I was not that crazy about their breakfasts, their buffet dinners blew me away. I stayed there 4 nights, and every night I’d look forward to have dinner in their restaurant.
Other than that, the staff of The Godley Hotel was nice and courteous to me, both through email and in person.
I’d definitely stay at The Godley Hotel again, but book one of their Standard or Lake View rooms instead of their budget rooms.

I tell you as I experienced it. Please be aware that your experience may vary from mine.
