Lake Camp is located not too far from Hakatere in the Ashburton district in Canterbury, New Zealand.
In fact, you can stop by it or get a glimpse of it when you go on the Lord of the Rings scenery on the Hakatere Potts Road scenic drive.
Lake Camp can be visited in any season, but is at its most scenic in either autumn or winter in New Zealand.
In autumn its shores will be dotted by yellow trees (as can be seen in the picture above), while in winter the mountains are likely to be snow-capped or snow-covered.
Lake Camp is one of my favorite locations for landscape photography, so I highly recommend it to you, that is, if you are able to get to this somewhat remote yet scenic region around Hakatere. The mountains and lakes around there are simply gorgeous!
