New Zealand high season

Driving in New Zealand can be hazardous in June if there is a lot of snow on the road, especially on the South Island of New Zealand and on the Central Plateau on the North Island. So care must be taken and if you are renting a car and intend to drive up to ski fields or through mountain passes such as Lindis Pass, you should carry chains.
